Eric Myers led an effort to create a passive neighborhood park space for the MLK District of downtown Chattanooga. Tapped by the City of Chattanooga, Myers led the professional team to establish a park design and follow it through bidding and construction. The park program was derived from several meetings involving community stakeholders and residents. The overwhelming consensus was to create a flexible space that reflected the community’s historical and cultural roots. The primary design structure incorporates symbolism and material composition that is a nod to the district’s musical history. An alley of trees and double sidewalks frame the eastern edge of the park, creating a pleasing frontage for adjacent townhomes.

Myers led this work as partner and former founding member of Polis Studio, LLC
